My 2005 Christmas List

Here are some special gift items you might want to think about as we head into Christmas and finish out 2005.

1) Center for Faith and Culture year-end tax-deductible donation

This may seem a self-serving place to start, but Jesus said “you have not because you ask not,” and quite frankly, CFC needs your help! If you enjoy our daily Culturewatch columns, I should remind you that we are completely reliant on your donations to support this site. We need 26,000 dollars to end this year in the black AND we have some BIG podcast plans for 2006 that will require additional funds early in 2006.

Your donations are tax deductible and are really appreciated. Mail them to:
PO Box 77385
Seattle, WA 98177

2) CS Lewis home, “The Kilns,” 75th Anniversary

Part of CFC’s mission is to support organizations doing work we believe in. This year we set a goal to raise 710,000 dollars to convert CS Lewis Oxford home, “The Kilns,” to a year-around study Center. As of today we have raised 625,000 dollars towards that goal. We have one room yet to be underwritten (50,000 dollars for the Children’s room). This is the room where kids stayed during WWII–the ones who inspired the Narnia series! The donor is allowed to honor an individual of their choosing with a plaque in the room!

We also have 16 more slots for 75th Anniversary Charter Members. This requires a 2500 dollar contribution and allows your name to be listed on a plaque in CS Lewis library! Donations need to be received by December 31, 2005 so if you are interested–do it now!

3) Image Journal This the absolute finest journal of “faith, art and mystery.” Order it for yourself AND this would also make an incredible gift. Subscribe at their website.

4) Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters If you are looking for a gift for someone in the next generation or those who love them, my most recent book “Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters” is a great tool for introducing a seeker to the Christian faith, equipping the young Christian or reminding us adults about what we should be passing on to the next generation

5) World Vision Sponsorship. Our family sponsors about 3 kids at a time because we believe in serving the “least of these.” If you have never sponsored a child–Why not do this for Christmas and if you already sponsor a child–why not sponsor another one!

Yours for the pursuit of God in the company of friends, Dick Staub.

PS. And remember, “these are the best of times and the worst of times, but they are the only times we have.” (For Now).
