Facing My “Disabilities.”

In a fascinating interview with Stephen Hawking he was asked what advice he would give to someone faced with a life altering physical disability. Most of us will not face a physical disability, but because each of us operate within limitations imposed on us by genetics and the opportunities (or lack thereof) inherent in our circumstances, I think his answer is universally applicable whether physically disabled or not. Here is what he said, “My advice to other disabled people would be, concentrate on things your disability doesn’t prevent you doing well, and don’t regret the things it interferes with. Don’t be disabled in spirit, as well as physically.”
