Busy Week: Restful Soul

It has been a really busy week and a lot of you have been contacting me about various points of connection. The week started with the Kindlings Muse @ Hales Ales Pub & Brewery with our show on Madonna and Lady Gaga (will be posted soon) featuring Seattle newcomer Christy Tennant, Ed Winkle, Jeff Keuss and Jennie Spohr. Then Wednesday I had a dozen cameo appearances on the History Channel Special: Jesus: The Lost 4o days. Passion Week was busy here on Orcas Island with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Preparation Saturday and two services on Easter. And then to top things off, Janet Tu of The Seattle Times wrote an amazing piece in the Sunday Pacific Northwest magazine titled Artistic and Religious that had photos of a Kindlings Muse Show with Jeff Keuss, Heather Hawkins, Jennie Spohr and Jeff Keuss, a cover photo of Kindlings Hearth Alum Robert Deeble and then featured comments from Hearth Alum Gregory Wolfe, Mako Fujimura, Scott and Pam Nolte and Karin Stevens (the last three also featured in Photos!) Out of the blue Mark Ruffalo’s people contacted us about helping get the word out about Symphony for Delicious (Releases the last week of April 2011) and finally gave us permission to post our Kindlings Muse @ Sundance/Windrider interview with Craig Detweiler (another Hearth Alum), Mark Ruffalo and writer Christopher Thornton! Lots and lots of e-mails and Facebook postings have ensued!

Productive work, busyness and media attention are often at odds with nurturing the soul. So here on Monday I am trying to quiet myself with the one whose burden is easy, yoke is light and who provides rest for our souls.
