What would Buffy, Jerry, Tim, Will, Grace and Jack do?

Jana Riess is a very smart woman who earned a PhD at Columbia University. She is also a devoted, ah what the heck RABID, Buffy and Angel fan. She is not alone. Today we bring you the complete AUDIO and Transcript of our interview what Jana on What Would Buffy Do? David Buckna read the excerpts of my “Buffy” interview in Christianity Today and immediately forwarded a couple of his pieces: Buffy a morality Play, and words from the book of Buffy.

Don’t miss the NEWSWEEK piece Jerry Jenkins and Tim La Haye, authors of the Left Behind series sales of which make them bigger than Stephen King and John Grisham. In this study of “evangelical” diversity Jerry differentiates himself nicely from LaHaye and does a great job of building bridges from faith to culture. Thanks Jerry for representing rational Christian dialogue in culture.

Popular culture plays a role in younger generation attitudes towards homosexuality thanks to shows like “Will and Grace” and “Six Feet Under.” Another reason to take popular culture seriously.

Parents may have the opportunity to sign a card approving R-rated movies for their kids. It is a development even Jack Valenti detests, but theatre owners are tired of being the bad guys as more and more underage kids frequent R-rated movies.

Yours for the pursuit of God in the company of friends, Dick Staub.

PS. And remember, “these are the best of times and the worst of times, but they are the only times we have.” (For Now).
