Allender. Bob Edwards. Zombies.

CW dan-fac.jpg
When I think of Dan Allender I chuckle. There is the hilarity of his conversion story (text and audio posted) and the impishness of his publicity photo. (foto right). There is also the memory of laughter each and every time I have spent time with him. Today for the first time his audio is available online at our web site, Enjoy!

On a less enjoyable front is the news of the “dumping” of NPR Morning Edition’s Bob Edwards just a few months shy of the 25th anniversary of the show he launched, which is the most listened to AM show in radio. In my own career I have heard the words, ¢â‚¬Ëœwe want to go a new direction” in the cancellation of a successful show and my hat is off to him for 25 years of getting up at 1AM to be there for his audience.

On the movie front:Ted Baehr says sex does not sell. 2003 was a great box office.. Mark Rahner explains how a Zombie movie bumped off the Passion of Christ at the box office. Jack Valenti announced his retirement at 82!.

Samuel Freedman pleads for “truth” in journalism. Good luck after years of “situation ethics” and cheating as a way of life in American schools and families.

And a mother-in-law joke for those who need a chuckle in addition to the allender chuckle.

Remember, “these are the best of times and the worst of times, but they are the only times we have.” (For Now).
